INIT has partnered with The Land Transport Authority of Singapore (LTA) and SG Enable to make public transport in Singapore more inclusive and accessible for visually impaired, hearing-impaired or mobility-impaired passengers.
The heart of the project is the MAVIS smartphone app developed by INIT, in which passengers can plan their journey individually and are accompanied through the journey. The app contains real-time information and triggers supporting technologies such as on-board and exterior bus announcements, and a notification to the bus driver. The communication link to the ITCS is all based on the open standard VDV431 (TRIAS).
