Green Kilometer Challenge

Sustainable mobility is very important to us here at INIT and no wonder, since we are committed to it every single day in our work for local public transport. But we also like to get involved on a personal level which is why last year's "Green Kilometer Challenge" was such a great success!

This challenge is about counting every "green" kilometer travelled, whether by bike, on foot or by any other active means. Together, INIT employees covered more than 180,000 kilometers in 2020, meaning we went around the world more than four times. Here are some highlights of what we achieved: an average of 3,000 km in one month and 500 km in one day by bike, and an average of 30 km per day on foot were completed! So we circumnavigated our globe four times in a sustainable way! We want to thank our colleagues worldwide for this incredible achievement, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, adverse weather conditions and any other excuses we could think of!

The odometer is now back at zero for the start of the new year and so we are starting a new INIT Green Challenge. Who knows, we might even reach the moon by the end of 2021! Together we can do it!
